President's Welcome

  • Dear Students, Faculty, and Staff of Longwood University,

I am very excited to serve all of you as the President of the Panhellenic Community! My main goal as president is to improve the relationships among the Greek community and Longwood University. Along with the rest of the Council, our common goal is to bring positive and lasting changes to the Greek community, as well as, working together with each sorority to ensure that we reach our goals. Each of the eight sororities at Longwood University has their own values and beliefs, rituals, and philanthropies that make up our ever-growing Greek Community. Each woman that is a part or interested in being a part of these organizations is provided with many opportunities. Some of the opportunities available are in leadership, scholarship, social and networking skills, and personal growth. The ethics of our College Panhellenic Organizations states, “Greek women working together serve as role models exemplifying the best in womanhood. They encourage their members to be law-abiding citizens, mindful of the rights of others and dedicated to representing and upholding the fine principles espoused by each and every group.” As president, I promise to dedicate myself to bettering the Greek community, to communicate with each council, sorority, fraternity, and the Longwood Community. I hope that during my year, I will bring about positive and achievable changes to help better the Greek Community. Also, I want everyone to know that I am open to their ideas and discussing the ways that they think will help better the Greek Community.

    Sincerely,

    Whitney Beale
